Talks and workshops

MIDI is three numbers, and the numbers can mean whatever you want. I have been saying that from stages since 2017.

It started as a talk called Make More Than Music with Tiny Computers, JavaScript and MIDI. It was given ten times in 2017 and 2018, turned into a workshop with a Circuit Playground on every desk, became an article for CSS-Tricks, went quiet for a while, and came back in 2026 as a workshop for Processing Community Day in New York.

Each entry has the date, the venue, the recording and slides where they exist, and its sources. Three old workshop sites went offline when their GitHub Pages builds disappeared, so their pages are kept here as they were.

Also on the road

Between 2018 and 2019 I was also giving a talk called JavaScript for Artists, with Web MIDI as one colour on the palette next to Web Audio, the camera, and a bit of machine learning. My talks page lists Front-Trends, FullStack 2018, GDG DevFest San Francisco, FrontMania, c't webdev, Microsoft Build, HalfStack Vienna, Heapcon, ChangeCon, RuhrJS and WebCamp Zagreb in those two years.
